In late January of 2017, Shane passed away from the relapse of a drug overdose, a symptom accounted for by his disorder, leaving behind his two young daughters, Talisha and Lilly (7 & 3), and his partner Sheree.
Bipolar is a prevalent disorder that can be found in every one of 50 Australian people, it increases risks of suicide by 15times for the person suffering it, and is accountable for 25% of suicides in Australia.
We’re looking to raise at least $5000, where 85% of that will be donated to the Black Dog Institute for research and treatment, and the other 15% will be put into his daughters bank accounts to save for expenses such as school.
We’ll keep you updated on our progress monthly and we look to have a benefit run at least once a year to raise further funds. The money will go into helping not only our family with the our next endeavours in life, but other families who many still be struggling or are in need of help or treatment.
